Marina Lampraki – Plaka

Mario, the knowledge, the observation, the imagination, the good taste are served by skill, art and craftsmanship in this wonderful exhibition. A single object can fill a space. Well done…

For as long as I can remember, I have been wearing shirts with cufflinks. I found all others to be indifferent. When in a hurry, they are “irritating”, but when performing the dress ritual before concert, the indispensable crossing of the cufflinks, soothes me. What I had avoided until recently, entered my life with a pair as a gift from Marios Voutsinas’ collection. They became my new “fetish”! They are so representative of me. Like an object, however new, which gives the impression of always having escorted you to such an extent, I no longer perceive a concert without their presence. A “port-bonheure” with the full meaning of the word.

Marios Voutsinas is a case of exception. A true enthusiast regarding his work. Wherever he may be, for leisure and travel, in amusement or seclusion, he assembles ideas… A magic touch converts ordinary artifacts rendering genuine adornments. Weather app button, a stone, a glass or oppositely a full-size space, a dwelling, a house. Alike any bona fide artist, Marios Voutsinas is a sort of magician who manages to outlive amid a harsh reality and a fantasy existence, who balances on the age of memory juggling the present and the past. I made a harsh reality and fantasy existence, who balances on the age of memory juggling the present and the past.
